The AIS 12 Gauge semi auto shotgun with indestructible black polymer stock and matching low profile textured forend is now available exclusively from IMG. Our manufacturing partner Aytech Arms of Turkey, has produced a light weight inertia driven shotgun that weighs less and requires less cleaning and lubrication than comparable gas operated semi autos. No gas system to clean after every trip to the range or weekend adventure in the field and lubrication is less vital because of loose fit between the bolt carrier and the receiver walls. This gun will shoot 2 3/4 and 3 inch lead and non-toxic shells including light recoil rounds that gas operated guns may have trouble cycling. The vent ribbed barrel is 4140 steel and is threaded for Beretta style choke tubes. A simple gold bead sight is mounted on the front. Both barrel and receiver are a non glare matte black finish. This shotgun comes with a shim kit that allows you to easily adjust the comb height and cast by simply removing the butt pad and the stock bolt with a phillips head screwdriver and a 6MM Allen wrench. AIS 12 shotguns include a 2 Year Limited Warranty.
GUIDE TO USING THE INCLUDED SHIM KIT
The Aytech AIS 12 Inertia semi-auto shotgun with synthetic stock comes with a shim kit that allows you to make small adjustments in the comb height in relation to the line of sight. The comb height is the difference between the height of the top of the receiver and the top of the butt pad in this case. This height will affect how your eyes see the target. Reducing this distance with a vent ribbed barrel will generally send your shots slightly higher. Increasing the comb height will move your shot placement lower. You may also adjust the cast which is the distance of the stock to the left or right of center to the top of the rib. The gun comes with spacers installed marked SS. These make the comb height 2.25 inches or 57 MM. Shoot the gun first to see if you are shooting low or high consistently before making any adjustments. Follow these instructions to adjust your comb height.
1) Tools you will need; #2 Philips Screwdriver and 6MM Allen wrench
2) Point the gun in a safe direction and pull the bolt back. Make certain the chamber is clear and inspect the magazine to make sure no shells are present. Make sure the bolt is locked back before continuing.
3) Remove the 2 butt pad screws (F) with the Philips Screwdriver. You may want to add a drop of liquid soap on the screwdriver to get to the head of the screws easier since they are recessed.
4) Remove the buttstock bolt (B) with the 6MM Allen wrench. You can now remove the bolt (B), locking plate (C) and the stock (D).
5) Once the stock is off you can remove the stock shim (E) from the back of the receiver and replace it with a different size simply by sliding it back over the recoil spring housing (G).
6) Replace the buttstock (D). Select a bolt locking plate (C) that matches your shim size for best results. Drop the bolt (B) through the hole in the locking plate (C) and tighten down on the Recoil spring housing (G) with the 6MM Allen wrench.
7) Replace the butt pad (A).
